Who we are:
The Lebensraum Zermatt association is dedicated to promoting community life in the region and making a positive contribution through various projects and events.
One of our central projects is “The Swimming Pool,” which provides children up to 12 years old with the opportunity to experience water and develop a love for swimming. Since Zermatt does not have its own swimming pool, we created this project as a temporary solution to give children their first water experiences.
Every year, the association organizes 2-3 events that promote social interaction and benefit the local community. Our annual program includes:
- Flea markets in spring and autumn: These events offer an opportunity to browse, trade, and reuse – ideal for strengthening the community and promoting sustainability.
- Christmas market with ice disco and Santa Claus visit: A special experience in the winter season that brings families and friends together and creates a festive atmosphere.
This year, we also launched a project to dry and preserve vegetables with children. We aim to teach the young participants about handling food and pass on traditional knowledge about preservation.
All our activities focus on bringing the people of the region together and shaping the living environment of Zermatt in an active and sustainable way.
